Healdsburg District Hospital Capital Campaign —
Keeping Quality Healthcare close to home
(2006 - 2008)
In addition to funding healthcare grants for community projects, the Foundation has committed itself to a comprehensive capital campaign in support of the revitalization of Healdsburg District Hospital. To date, we have raised over $11 million in gifts and pledges to fund 12 key initiatives designed to support HDH to be self-sustaining and meet the needs of our community for years to come.
In partnership with Healdsburg District Hospital we funded and/or helped to create
- The Hospital Revitalization Plan (initiated 2006)
- The passage of Measure G in 2001 (Created Hospital Tax District)
- Helped to gain Critical Access Hospital designation
- Increased financial reimbursement from Medicare
- Worked to reduce Hospital operating expenses by 5%
- Increased Hospital pricing
- Increased reimbursements from insurance companies
- Repaired roof
- Remodeled hospital lobby
- Added multiple services
- Funded the build-out of the sub-acute unit
- Opened a second operating room and a 3rd GI Suite
- Instituted the Hospitalist Program
- Secured funding for the Wetzel Family Emergency Department
- Secured funding for the Patricia and Raymond Chambers Intensive Care Unit (Opened February 2008)
- Secured funding for the Betty and Edward R. Kozel, Sr. Stroke Institute which will serve as the “hub” of the North Bay Stroke Network (Opening 2008)
- Established Telemedicine Program
- Robotic Telepresence through InTouch robots
- Telemetry services
- Pediatric Telemedicine Program
- Telepharmacy
- Provided a 12-lead EKG to Bell Ambulance
