The Healthcare Foundation raises funds for capital projects in support of healthcare in northern Sonoma County including funds necessary to the development, implementation and protection of such projects.
Healthcare Foundation’s vision for a healthy community involves more than the absence of disease. It is a state where community members, physicians, hospitals, clinics, and policy makers work together to improve health and healthcare, and there is respect for the experience and knowledge of all the people most directly affected. It is a state where all residents have a sense of inclusion and partnership is the norm.
We actively promote and support an array of local coalitions, which are deeply rooted in communities and know best the conditions that need to change, as well as statewide and, in some cases, national organizations. Acting as a change agent, we bring together these individuals, organizations and coalitions to influence health decision makers and shape policies and systems at all levels so they reflect the ideas and goals that work for everyone.
Our approach seeks to mobilize the talents and assets of our entire community population to improve the quality of our health systems and to promote health at every level of the community. This approach to health is reinforced through investments made in the local community. Our work involves a dual focus: grant making and policy and advocacy.
